Blessings and New Beginnings: Monk Ceremony

At Desk+Chair Samui, we believe that every space carries energy, and there’s no better way to start our journey than by receiving blessings from the local community. To mark the official opening of our coworking space, we had the privilege of welcoming five monks from a nearby temple to perform a traditional Buddhist blessing ceremony.

The ceremony was a deeply spiritual and meaningful event, filling our space with positive energy and a sense of peace. The monks chanted sacred prayers, invoking blessings for prosperity, success, and harmony for everyone who will work and create within Desk+Chair Samui. The rhythmic chanting, combined with the serene presence of the monks, created a truly uplifting atmosphere.

As part of the ritual, the monks sprinkled holy water throughout the space, symbolizing purification and protection. Sacred white threads were tied around key areas to represent unity, strength, and good fortune. The ceremony concluded with a traditional offering of food to the monks, a gesture of gratitude and respect.

This blessing is more than just a ritual—it’s a way for us to honor the rich cultural traditions of Thailand and to connect with the Koh Samui community. We are grateful for the opportunity to have begun this journey with such a meaningful event, and we look forward to building a space where collaboration, creativity, and inspiration thrive.
